about

city film days
City film days are an annual film event, with each edition being dedicated to a different city. For each city, a curator compiles a two-day program of short, documentary, and feature films to draw a cinematic portrait of his/her hometown, its history and architecture, its everyday life and its political and social challenges. City film days invite their visitors to explore the multifacedness of urban space. They aim to be both a platform for emerging film makers and an event bringing together different communities in Berlin and beyond. City film days are hosted by the non-profit organization 21. Oktober e.V.
Tbilisi
The Tbilisi edition of city film days portraits the Georgian capital city by featuring the diversity of the individuals and communities that shape the city's urban fabric. Be it a group of youngsters, be it women working on a neighborhood market, be it skaters or be it people in love - the stories of different people and communities constitute Tbilisi's urban space as well as its beauty and magic.
Additionally city film days Tbilisi highlights the political situation of Georgia shaped by ongoing protests against an increaslingly autocratic goverment surpressing civil society, free media and basic human rights. The program of city film days seeks to shed light on the protests and a political situation that heavily impacts on everyday life in Tbilisi and the future of its citizens.
